BOUNTY REPLICA USED FOR DEFINITIVES
The replica Bounty on which most of this stamp issue is largely based, is that which was commissioned by the film studio MGM in 1962 and later donated to charity by Ted Turner. From 2002-2007 she had been undergoing a $3M restoration, but still managed to feature in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. She sank off the coast of North Carolina during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The Australian replica is still operational.

This set of definitives replaces the previous Pitcairn flower definitives. Issue date was October 17, 2007.
