PISG Seminar and Society Booth at StampShow 2008 August 14-17, 2008 PISG will have a significant presence at the annual APS StampShow being held at the Connecticut Convention Center from August 14 to 17 in Hartford, Connecticut. We will be sharing a joint society booth with our friends from the Falkland Islands Philatelic Study Group (FIPSG) and the St. Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha Philatelic Society (SHATPS). The booth (Society Booth G) will provide a handy place for members to meet and talk with other PISGers, as well as review some of the recent publications of the group. If you would like to volunteer to help staff the booth, please notify Mark Butterline. Even an hour of coverage would be appreciated. It's even fun. On Saturday, August 16 there will be a PISG General Membership Meeting in room 24 from 4:00PM to 5:30PM. All are welcome. There will be two presentations with a transportation theme. Mark Butterline will speak about Pitcairn Air Mail and Steve Pendleton will speak about Pitcairn Ship Mail. There will also be a general membership discussion. Over 170 stamp dealers, including some who specialize in Pitcairn, will be at the show. In addition there will be nearly 1,000 frames of exhibits. This is the largest annual stamp show in the United States.
